The Association of Cannabinoid Specialists wishes you a warm, peaceful, and merry holiday season. Let's reflect on some of the accomplishments we've made together in 2024.
In addition to a newly designed website, transitioning to a weekly newsletter (biweekly via email, biweekly via LinkedIn), and offering more volunteer and networking opportunities, we've made great strides as an organization in our mission of education and advocacy. Below are just a few highlights from this past year.
Policy Department
In the Policy Department this year, we’ve developed multiple policies and connected with news outlets and policy makers all across the country.
Some of the policies developed this year include:
- ACS Comment to DEA Rescheduling Rule
- Association of Cannabinoid Specialists’ Position on Medical Use of Cannabinoids as Applied to Special Groups
- ACS Guidance on Driving as a Medical Cannabis Patient
We also held a policy panel symposium on rescheduling.
Student Department
Some of the successes we’ve had in the Student Department this year include:
- Holding multiple symposiums throughout the year (symposiums and lectures available here!)
- Developing relationships with educational institutions and student bodies, including the University Of Maryland School Of Pharmacy.
- Recruiting student members to our free student membership program. (Want to join? Just email [email protected] to get started!)
- Working to develop a student ambassador program and grow our volunteer groups.
Education Department
We've had great achievements in the Education Department this year, and we're already working on programming for 2025!
- Holding multiple symposiums throughout the year, both in lecture and panel formats.
- Releasing courses with a variety of presenters, including our new CME course - Introduction to Cannabinoid Medicine (don't forget, members get 20% off!)
- Developing new ideas for courses, new presenters, and new symposiums to grow in 2025. Have an idea? Email [email protected] to submit your thoughts!
- Keep your eye on our course page for new courses in early 2025!
These are just a few of the developments we've made in 2024, and there is much more growth on the way in 2025!
Consider helping our mission by donating to the Association of Cannabinoid Specialists, or becoming a member and growing with us.
Thank you for your support this past year, and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
