CANNRA Panel: How do Policies Affect Patients?

Recently President and Founder of the Association of Cannabinoid Specialists, Jordan Tishler, MD, was invited to participate in a panel at the Cannabis Regulators Association (CANNRA) 2024 External Stakeholder Meeting in Minneapolis, MN.

The topic of the panel was "How do Policies Affect Patients? Scientific and Policy Insights on Patient Outcomes and Access to Medical Cannabis and Cannabinoids”.  Policy that affects cannabis patients was discussed.  This included rescheduling, regulation of hemp-derived cannabinoids, national research priorities, and the need for a national prescribing system to facilitate patient care.

Dr. Tishler was joined by panelists Mitch Doucette, PhD, MS, Research Director, Leafwell; Steph Sherer, Executive Director, Americans for Safe Access; and Ryan Vandrey, PhD, Professor, Johns Hopkins University.

The moderator of the event was David Rak, MPH, Research Manager, Medical Cannabis Program, Minnesota Department of Health; Former Co-Chair, CANNRA Committee for Medical Use & Research.

ACS is proud to have brought our unique expertise and skills in advocacy and education to this panel, and we look forward to working with CANNRA in future panels and presentations.
