Dr. Shiksha Gallow is a global pioneer in the field of medical cannabis, committed to advancing holistic healing and integrative healthcare. She is the Medical Director of the Holistic Integrative Healing Institute, an international clinic that bridges Western medicine with Eastern traditions.

An accomplished integrative ethno-medical practitioner, cannabis clinician, and traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, Dr. Gallow brings a unique perspective to patient care. Her medical foundation stems from a background in Clinical Pathology, which she has expanded into a career dedicated to blending evidence-based medicine with natural healing practices.

Dr. Gallow is the first South African appointed to the Board of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians (USA) and also serves on the International Cannabis Education Coalition (Ohio, USA) and ECS Education (Sweden) advisory boards.

With a Doctorate in Medicine, three Master’s degrees (MBA, MPH and MMedSci), and ongoing work toward her third PhD, Dr. Gallow is a leading voice in cannabis research and education. She is actively involved in academic research as a Clinical Research Associate at Tshwane University of Technology and serves as the Principal Investigator at the University of Pretoria for all cancer and cannabis-related clinical trials.

Her current research focuses on the use of cannabinoids in prostate cancer and other clinical modalities. She also leads South Africa’s first clinical trial on cannabis for opioid replacement therapy and collaborates internationally on cannabis innovation and patient care.

Dr. Gallow’s accredited training program in cannabinoid medicine—endorsed by the University of Cape Town (UCT) and the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)—offers 25 CPD points. Through this program, she has successfully trained medical doctors and healthcare professionals across the globe.

Her accolades include multiple international awards, notably the 2024 SAMA Research First Prize, along with various global healthcare honors. A prolific author, passionate educator, and sought-after speaker, Dr. Gallow remains committed to expanding patient access to safe, evidence-based, plant-based therapies across the globe.
