The Association of Cannabinoid Specialists (ACS) hosted its inaugural "Ask Us Anything" event in collaboration with the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy's Graduate Studies in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics (MCST) program.
The format allowed students to voice their concerns, ask questions, and receive feedback about job opportunities in a relatively new and rapidly growing field of medical cannabis.
Dr. Jordan Tishler, James Winokur, Dr. Adam Abodeely, and Carrie Armour served as panelists, addressing various topics concerning the medical cannabis space. Key discussion points included the importance of education in cannabinoids, advocacy for patient care, challenges within cannabis regulation and legislation, and opportunities within the cannabis industry.
Critical questions fielded from students and participants ranged from the incorporation of cannabis in medical practice, job opportunities in the cannabis industry, to regulatory challenges and potential roles in medical cannabis education.
The panel also covered the impact of potential federal rescheduling of cannabis on the industry and patients. The panelists emphasized the growing acceptance and opportunities within the cannabis industry, advocating for better regulations and more extensive research.
